Session in the Gamla Ullevi with Alba but without Alves

|

The Brazilian has sprained his right ankle and is in doubt for the final game of the preseason on Saturday night against Dinamo Bucharest
One of the attractions of today’s session was seeing Jordi Alba training for the first time under orders of Tito Vilanova
After the game with Manchester United in Gothenburg, the team trained this morning in the Gamla Ullevi, one of the venues for the Women’s European Championships next summer.
The complete first team trained on Thursday morning in Gothenburg, with the exception of Dani Alves, who did specific work geared at helping him to recover from a sprained ankle. The Brazilian picked up the injury in last night’s game with Manchester United, but it doesn’t seem to be too serious and there is even a chance he could be fit in time to take part in the final game of the preseason in Bucharest.
First session with Alba:
The players will stay in Sweden until Friday, and trained today at the Gamla Ullevi. It was the first time Jordi Alba had been involved in a session since he reported for duty on Wednesday after playing at the Olympics, and oddly enough this happened after he had already appeared in his first game wearing a Barça shirt in last night’s friendly.
Evening off:
The team was given the rest of the day off, and won’t train again until Friday morning, still in Sweden, before heading to the airport for a 16.30 flight to Romania, where the final opponent of the preseason, Dinamo Bucharest, awaits.
